Rain Sensor for Audi TT 8N

Rain sensor next level Sometimes the relationship of the TT to the Gulf is quite nice. For example, if one notes that the rain sensor is almost plug and play matches. One need only the sensor itself and the relay WiWa the Golf IV (No. 192). Although this sensor to have the golf only with the auto-dimming interior mirror, the whole thing can be achieved even without the mirror. The two operate completely independently of each other ie. Dynamic Universal reactor for Vespa scooter and motorcycle

Those who have little 2-wheeled toys based on homogeneous traffic flow has a slightly tuned, knows the thrill of standing at the traffic light next to the police. If it is then also stopped (worst case), it is just beginning to be really funny to. Since the classic work on my speed limiter old Vespa of course not, so I had to come up with another way to protect myself from these situations. The idea was that you could potentially reduce any engine, if one narrows the outlet of the exhaust. The idea is not new, as many sports bikes already have designed a dynamic, automatic exhaust valve, which controls the back pressure to deliver to the engine in the rpm range the optimum back pressure. So I grabbed at eGay a 12V power outlet control for a Honda NSR, I wanted to use for an electric narrowing my elbow. Read the full post ...

Antenna tuning for FM stations

Everyone knows these small, nice, and recently in Germany allowed FM transmitter for MP3 player, which you can hear music in your car without cables. Unfortunately, the sound quality is due to permanent faults but very much to be desired. This is sometimes in the statutory, rather low transmission power. But you can improve a little bit, by pimps, the antenna a bit. For this I use an old and well proven principle of the antenna. In other words, just a cable in a certain length, which must be calculated beforehand. The best thing is when the length of the cable length frequency wavelength, or fractions thereof. The FM spectrum is in the VHF band II between 87.5-108 MHz, the mean count on us is thus 97.75 MHz.
Now we calculate:
Speed of light [m / s] / frequency [1 / s] = wavelength [m]
in numbers:
300 million [m / s] / 97.75 million [1 / s] = approx 3.07 [m]
Since no one has fixed on a 3m long antenna, you can also use a fraction of them, eg 1/8 or 1/4. Ie 77 cm or 38 cm.

Then I have the body of my ultra-cheap, illegally produced in China by children, housing my FM transmitter and have opened the aerial search, which was glued a small strip of copper in the body. I have then extended the same time. At the point where it was soldered with a small antenna cables to the board, I then simply soldered on my 38cm cable. But the best thing now would be really, if we take this new antenna cable out of the case and simply hangs on the device, so the length to its best advantage. But I wound for aesthetic reasons, this cable and herded into the enclosure. Experimentally, I've also found that if I bridge the small SMD capacitor, which is located directly after the antenna connector on the motherboard, the range has again raised discreetly. Why can not explain it, maybe even one of my readers know the reason. Have fun listening to music!

Game and eliminate annoying crackle in the seat

Perhaps you know that and you've often been asked whether there is a solution for it. In almost every bend and shear loading of the seat audible crack a tiny millimeter back and forth. Sensitive people feel that in the course buttometer :-) . At least that often in the Golf IV and Bora or experienced the big brother, the Passat. I think I know that some Audi models equipped with the same type of support. At fault are certainly the two camps of the height adjustment consisting only of stamped steel and depending on the manufacturing tolerances of the assembly-line worker and spirits are compressed more or less. The solution is so obvious: Brute Force! But please, at the right place -. Read the full post ...

Steering wheel controls for the radio

lenkrad_7 When I still had my old golf (God rest his soul) gave me the idea, the infrared remote control of my car stereo installed in the steering wheel. The advantages are obvious: The fingers stay where they belong, at the knee of girlfriend :-) .
The whole is really only for cars without airbags, if only because under the horn switch is enough room for the electronics. My new car, a VW Bora has an air bag and I'm going here to find another solution. However, not infrared, but a few contacts in the slip ring. Read the full post ...
